Love Island watchers did a double take as one of the contestants completely botched the pronunciation of a word.
Following the stunning double dumping of Mehdi Edno and Mal Nicol, commercial real estate agent Catherine Agbaje, 22, was conversing with some other Islanders on Tuesday night’s episode.
Following the incident, Dubliner Catherine attempted to congratulate her former Islander Mal, but it did not go as planned.
While brushing her teeth in the bathroom with some of the other girls, Catherine said: ‘Mal really came and made an impact like she was just happiness.’
‘She was the epitome of happy.’
Although none of the females seemed to notice the error in her pronunciation, others watching at home were less tolerant.
‘Did Catherine just say “epi-tom” instead of epitome of happiness,’ one person posted on Twitter.
‘No way Catherine just pronounced epitome like that hahaha,’ someone else said.
Another added: ‘Catherine’s pronunciation of epitome was crazy.’
However, many others found it amusing.
‘Catherine’s pronunciation of epitome is the funniest thing this whole season,’ a viewer wrote.
‘Was Catherine tryna say epitome? Bless her,’ another chimed in.
Ahead of entering the villa in Mallorca, Catherine described herself as ‘fun, flirty and never boring’, promising that she could ‘chat your ears off’.
She holds two degrees: an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology and a master’s degree in real estate.
Following the most recent dumping on the programme, Friday night’s episode was a little less glamorous than normal as the group was served a horrible lunch prepared by Sammy Root and Whitney Aebayo.
They said they had no idea how to cook and served ‘pasta mash,’ which was canned spaghetti mixed together and smothered with sauce.
Clearly confused about what they were about to consume, some people didn’t hold back, with someone heard whispering: ‘What the f*** is that.’
Sammy himself, eating in the kitchen with Whitney, even admitted: ‘That’s f***ing disgusting.’
To which an exasperated Whitney said: ‘I told you it would be disgusting.’
