Boris Johnson told us a year ago that he probably doesn’t watch ITV between 9 and 10 a.m. on weekdays.
He said this during an interview with Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain, revealing that he was ignorant of a specific popular daytime host.
As her time with Boris came to an end, Susanna informed the then-Prime Minister that Lorraine Kelly would be discussing their conversation on her upcoming show.
Susanna, 52, told Boris, 58: ‘Lorraine is waiting to take up all the issues that you have brought up in this interview.’
A baffled Boris said: ‘Who’s Lorraine?’, to which she quickly retorted with: ‘Who’s Lorraine? Lorraine’s a legend!’
Lorraine, 63, was seemingly unfazed by the comments and when the camera went to her in the studio she said: ‘Wow thanks, Susanna. A masterclass in a political interview.’
We’ve completed a whole orbit around the sun since this interaction.
Scott Bryan, a keen TV critic, spotted the date and tweeted: ‘It has been one year since the “Who is Lorraine?” incident. Feels like a lifetime.’
‘Need to do something special for the anniversary,’ Lorraine quickly responded. Hopefully, she’s got some bubbly in the fridge.
One fan wrote: ‘This is the moment I said he’s #notmyprimeminister.’

Boris quit as Prime Minister a little more than a month later. Perhaps he has more time for TV now and thus knows everything there is to know about Lorraine.
In addition to commemorating a year since Boris had no idea who Lorraine was, the King’s Coronation is quickly coming.
Lorraine has voiced her sadness that Ed Sheeran would miss the celebrations in order to compete on American Idol.
