Lorraine Kelly has said that she often relies on other presenters to host her ITV show on Fridays because she has to go home to see her mother.
Lorraine, 64, has had an account on X, previously Twitter, since the beginning of the year, just to track how frequently she delivers her self-titled show.
Lorraine K Watch reported today that she has presented 16 out of 19 in 2024, with Christine Lampard delivering the other three.
The presenter has finally spoken out about why she is not always present.
‘Morning and huge thanks to the wonderful @clbleakley for stepping in on Fridays so I can get back home,’ she began.
Lorraine is recorded in London in the same studio room as Loose Women, with the area changing everyday; this fact has recently perplexed viewers.
After her Thursday shift, Glasgow-born Lorraine flies ‘home’ to spend time with her mother Anne, who lives in East Kilbride, Scotland, while Lorraine and her husband Steve dwell in a riverfront villa in Buckinghamshire.

Lorraine has already expressed gratitude to NHS officials at a Scottish hospital for caring for Anne’s health issues.
Anne, 81, was hospitalised in 2022 after being diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, which prevents the kidneys from working normally.
‘It was a worrying time for the whole family,’ she told Hello!
Lorraine discussed seeking care for both of her parents, saying, “My dad also has health issues, including a heart condition, and with them living in Scotland, my brother Graham in Singapore, and me in London, we realised they were going to need some help.”
‘So, when my mum came back home, I brought it up and I said: “Obviously, it’s for you, but it’s also for me and Graham. It’ll make us feel better”.’
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am
