Ahead of The Traitors’ finale tonight, a call for people interested in appearing in the next season is already underway.
Since its debut at the end of 2022, Claudia Winkleman’s reality series has amassed a devoted following that cannot get enough of the twists, turns, and backstabbing that occur when players engage in banishments and murders.
This time, the 22 participants have been reduced to five, with Andrew and Harry aiming to evade detection from Faithful’s Evie, Jazz, and Mollie, all hoping to walk away with the prize fund.
People have been coming to watch, with each programme garnering almost six million people.
However, for those who want to take their passion of the series a step further, the casting call for season 3 is now open.
The advert from Studio Lambert reads: ‘The Traitors is a competition series built on strategy and suspicion, filmed in the Scottish Highlands.
‘We are looking for fun, smart and strategic players to take part in the ultimate game of trust and treachery.’
Potential contestants are told to ‘expect trickery, betrayal and backstabbing’.
How to apply to be on The Traitors series 3
Those interested in joining up must first register using their email address and provide information such as their name, date of birth, occupation, and other facts.
Following that, producers use an application form with 12 questions to determine an individual’s character attributes.
The application begins with the candidate being given the opportunity to explain about themselves in a maximum of 1000 characters.
Who are the producers looking to cast for The Traitors series 3?
Mike Cotton, the executive producer of The Traitors, stated that they did not want those looking for celebrity to join.
‘We’re actively looking for people who have got a passion for playing that game, and potentially might come to it with a game plan or a strategy,’ he said.
‘But we’re also looking for people who can bring something from their own lives to it, whether that’s a skillset, whether that’s from a past job, whether that’s a hobby, or some sort of life experience that they’ve had.
‘What I find fascinating is that you don’t have to be the smartest, you don’t have to be the prettiest, you don’t have to be the strongest to win this game.’
He added: ‘It’s a bit like when you’re putting together a jury I guess, in that we look for people from all sorts of different backgrounds and all walks of life that we can put together, that give us a diverse cross-section of the UK.’
What to expect from the application process
In the application, users are asked if they have watched The Traitors and, if so, what they thought of past participants’ games.
They are also asked if they want to be a Traitor or a Faithful, and why, as well as what their winning plan is.
Things then become even more intimate, with applicants invited to reveal the worst lie they’ve ever told and how they got away with it.
Following that, they are asked if they are adept at keeping secrets, as well as the largest one they have kept.
The form then asks if they are more likely to make a decision based on their mind or their heart, what the most significant experience in their life has been and how it has influenced them as a person, and how those closest to them would characterise them.
It then asks about their most passionate interests in life, why they should be chosen to participate, and, most importantly, how they plan to use the prize money if they win.
Applicants must also make a one-minute video introducing themselves, outlining their game plan, and explaining why they want to participate.
Filming for the third season will take place at Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands this spring or summer, and candidates must be willing to commit to filming for up to four weeks.
Applications, which can be found here, close in two weeks.
The Traitors finale airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One.
