Warning: spoilers ahead for episode 3 of Loki.
Episode 3 of Marvel series Loki on Disney Plus brought many intriguing revelations to light, including the real identity of the variant Lady Loki (Sophie Di Martino) and a startling truth about the TVA (Time Variance Authority).
The latest instalment also confirmed Loki’s (Tom Hiddleston) sexual orientation in the MCU, sparking huge levels of excitement among fans.
In the new episode, Loki follows the variant Loki through a portal transporting them back to the TVA headquarters, where they continue to be chased by the organisation’s Minutemen.
To escape the TVA agents, including judge Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), Loki takes them through another portal, this time landing on the planet of Lamentis-1 in the year 2077, when it is on the verge of being destroyed by a moon in an apocalypse.
So what happens to Loki and Sylvie, as the Loki variant is known?
What happens to Loki and Sylvie on Lamentis-1?
While on Lamentis-1 in search of a power source that can recharge the TemPad they were using for teleportation, the Loki variant explains to Loki that she doesn’t want to be called Loki – preferring to go by Sylvie instead.

Although in the comics Sylvie is a completely different character to Lady Loki, who is also known as Enchantress, it appears the two characters may have been merged into one for the Disney Plus show.
After getting into several magic-fuelled fights, Sylvie and Loki decide to work together to get onto the ark, an evacuation vessel that they can use to power the TemPad.
To do this, they first board a train – which is when even more chaos ensues.
Loki’s sexual orientation is confirmed
While on the train taking them to the ark, the pair take a moment to get to know each other better, with Loki asking Sylvie whether she has a ‘beau’ waiting for her.
Sylvie tells Loki that she’s in a ‘long-distance relationship with a postman’, before asking whether there are any ‘would-be-princesses’ or ‘another prince’ on the horizon for Loki.
‘A bit of both. I suspect the same as you,’ he replies.
This marks the first time the MCU has referenced Loki’s sexual orientation, who in Norse mythology is described as bisexual and gender-fluid.
Numerous fans expressed their excitement over the confirmation in the MCU, with one tweeting: ‘Canon bisexual loki means so much to me.’
Someone else wrote: ‘MY PANSEXUAL KING BEING CONFIRMED I’M SO HAPPY.’
In a promo video released for Loki, it was recently confirmed that Loki is gender-fluid in the MCU.
Will Loki and Sylvie manage to escape the apocalypse?
Having tricked their way onto the train, Loki and Sylvie are found out and promptly kicked off the vehicle.
They decide to head to the ark anyway, with the aim of helping it take off from Lamentis-1 to escape the apocalypse.
However, as they arrive, it is destroyed – spelling disaster for them and everyone else left on the planet.
Considering we’re only halfway through Loki, it seems safe to say that they will somehow manage to escape. But how?
The truth about the TVA emerges
When Loki first arrived at the TVA, he was informed that the TVA agents, including Mobius M Mobius (Owen Wilson), were created by the Time-Keepers.
However, having abducted an agent during one of her attacks, Sylvie tells Loki that all of the agents are variants, just like them.
Are there agents at the TVA who are aware that they had lives prior to their work at the TVA? Or could this new piece of information result in the TVA being brought to its knees?
Loki returns on Wednesday and is available to watch on Disney Plus.
