Khloé Kardashian has unveiled a 4cm scar and stitches she received during a frightening brush with skin cancer.
The Good American creator, 38, featured in the teaser for the current season of The Kardashians with a bandage across her left cheek.
Khloé underwent surgery after doctors detected melanoma during a biopsy on what she believed was a pimple.
Melanoma is a kind of skin cancer that can spread to other parts of the body, and the major cause of the condition is UV radiation, according to the NHS.
Kris Jenner, her frightened mother, tells filmmakers in a confessional: ‘This on her face is really troubling.’
Viewers then get a close-up of Khloé’s stitched-up wound, which measures 4cm according to a ruler next to the incision.
Khloé is later photographed with a bandage on her face, deep in discussion with her best friend, Malika Haqq, 40.
Malika, worried, tells her, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this low.’
Kendall Jenner, Khloé’s sister, is also heard in the teaser worrying about her sister’s well-being.
‘She doesn’t sleep,’ says the supermodel. She doesn’t eat anything. She’s shed a lot of pounds.’
‘Melanoma is deadly,’ Khloé says in a confessional. ‘This is way more serious than I anticipated it to be.’
The Kardashians star previously addressed the wound in an Instagram post in an attempt to persuade fans to have their bodies checked.
She explained: ‘After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied 7 months after realising it was not budging.’
The actress stated that two physicians biopsied the tumour since what they saw was ‘extremely unusual’ for someone her age.
‘A few days later I was told I need to have an immediate operation to remove a tumour from my face,’ she revealed.
Khloé continued: ‘So here we are… you’ll probably see a scar (and an indentation in my cheek from the tumour being removed) but until then I hope you enjoy how fabulous I’m making these face bandages look.’
Khloé has previously spoken out about having skin cancer on her back, pushing people to examine their moles.
She explained on her website in 2016: ‘I’ve gone through this process a couple of times and I am so grateful that most moles have not been cancerous. However, there was one mole I had on my back that was skin cancer.
Khloe continued: ‘I had 8 inches of skin removed. It was definitely painful because it was a lot of skin, but most of the time the removals haven’t been that bad.’
The Kardashians will be launching on Disney Plus on May 25.
