After expressing his one requirement for a prospective signing, Strictly Come Dancing pro Johannes Radebe is all in for Roman Kemp joining the series.
While this year’s lineup has been revealed, with Les Dennis, Adam Thomas, and Angela Rippon taking to the dancefloor, the Capital FM host, 30, previously stated that he would only compete in the BBC programme if paired with Johannes, 36.
Although Roman recently ruled out appearing on Strictly owing to major injuries, it appears that the South African dancer would like to be a part of the hosts’ dancing adventure.
He enthused: ‘I was like, “Strictly, do something about this.”
He added to OK!: ‘I think he’s a lovely guy. I’ve never seen him dance but I know I would laugh and that’s one of the most important things. [I’d want to dance with either] him or Andrew Garfield.’
How can we make this happen!
This comes after the former Great British Bake Off champion, 34, admitted to falling for Johannes when they became the BBC ballroom show’s first male pair in 2021.
The professional dancer has now commented about what was disclosed about their connection a few weeks following that revelation.
Despite their ‘wonderful time’ together, Johannes emphasised the platonic nature of their bond and stated that they will be ‘friends for life’ despite the feelings that developed.
‘We have gone on to have such a beautiful experience together that it would be a shame if we were not friends after all that,’ he said.
‘What we agreed is that, regardless of what life throws at us, we will always keep [this friendship] going,’ he added when speaking to The Times.
Looking ahead Johannes stated that he was now looking for a private partner after years of struggling to accept his sexuality owing to internalised homophobia.
‘I want a partner. I want one. I need one. Every aspect of my life is great except for that. I deserve love and I never, ever thought that I deserved to be loved in that way,’ he shared.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC later this year.
