As a result of his vasectomy, Jason Manford has ruled out the prospect of having further children in the future.
The 41-year-old comedian, actor, and Starstruck judge, who has four children with his ex-wife Catherine and two with his wife Lucy, acknowledged that he had shaved his head, calling it “the respectable thing.”
Monday on ITV’s Loose Women, when asked if he will have another kid in the future, he joked, ‘It would be a medical impossibility, shall we say?’
Jason joked that he was attempting to keep things low-key given the time of day after panellist Janet Street Porter inquired whether he’d had a haircut.
‘I was trying to be subtle on daytime telly,’ he laughed. ‘I did the respectable thing, eventually, and had the snip.’
His remarks followed his admission that he had to cancel his Australia trip to care for his family.
‘My nan’s not very well. It was one of those things, bits and bobs with the kids as well. I can’t really be on the other side of the world,’ he explained.
Similarly, Jason recently stated that he uses a spreadsheet to assist him manage his children’s social activities since ‘there so many to keep track of’
‘I wouldn’t have anymore, absolutely not. 100% no,’ he told the Mail. ‘Even now I’m with my sister, her partner and their baby and even after about five minutes of holding my nephew I’m like nope… I don’t miss this bit. I don’t pine for it at all.’
Despite this, he indicated that ‘one child is tougher’ because you must focus on them ‘all the time’, whereas several children can ‘look after each other’.
‘I took a flight and flew with all six of them by myself. It was a bit mad, but people think it’s harder than it is. You get to a certain point where they look after themselves,’ he said.
‘My eldest are nearly 14, they’re twins, I have a 12, a 10, a seven and a four-year-old. I think one child is harder because they need your attention the entire time.
‘I was alright, I read my book, I watched Bullet Train. You just need to have so many that they look after each other… that’s the aim.’
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1.
