Jamie Lynn Spears has stated that she chatted with her sister Britney before coming to the jungle and competing on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
In recent years, the 32-year-old Zoey 101 actress has become estranged from her elder sister, who regained control of her multimillion-dollar assets when a conservatorship overseen by her immediate family was dissolved in 2021, after suspicions she was complicit in the arrangement.
Jamie Lynn has now acknowledged that she had touch with Britney before she joined the likes of Nigel Farage and Josie Gibson in Australia, despite forgetting to mention her claim to fame through her sister.
She told campmate Fred Sirieix on Monday’s episode, ‘I suppose every family argues and has their things, but I talked to her before I got here and we love each other.’
Jamie Lynn scored a part in the Nickelodeon sitcom All That before Zoey 101 in the years after Britney soared to popularity as a pop artist, but shortly after finishing the production in 2007, she discovered herself pregnant with then-boyfriend Casey Aldridge at the age of 16.
Jamie Lynn said to the First Dates star that she was taught to feel her life was ‘over’ after she gave birth to now-15-year-old Maddie.

She said: ‘Oh, I always say this. My momma, not in a cocky way at all, my mom literally believed we were the best in the world.
‘I think we grew up, all we ever did was sing and dance, that was our whole household, that’s how we were.’
She went on to explain how she was on All That for three years before Zoey 101, saying: ‘It was very successful.
‘After I finished Zoey, I had my love of my life, what I thought, I decided to keep the baby. I was 16.
‘The whole world was like, “You’re a slut, you’re horrible your life is over.
‘Because I got pregnant young and I was on a kids’ show.’
The Sweet Magnolias actress, who is now married to Jamie Watson and has a five-year-old daughter named Ivey, was seen on the verge of tears as she claimed that several people did not want her to have the pregnancy but moved to Mississippi from her native Louisiana to focus on raising her child.
She continued: ‘I moved to Mississippi and literally hid. Put a gate around me.
‘I had 20 paparazzi on me every day. They wouldn’t leave me alone. They came and lived in Mississippi, middle of nowhere.
‘It was horrible. I hated it so much. I just wanted to be normal because I wanted my baby to be normal.

‘Everybody told me I was going to be a horrible mom, so I was like I’ve got to raise this baby by myself and I did.’
Breaking down into tears, she went on: ‘When I first got pregnant, they didn’t want me to have the baby. A lot of people around me.
‘And then when I got out of that, I told my parents I was going to emancipate them, so that way I could make my own decisions. I was secretly telling her I was going to doctor’s appointments. I was going to meet with a lawyer.’
She added: ‘My poor mom, we put her through it. And so then she was like, she didn’t want me to do that, because she knew that would mean I’d probably marry the father and lose my fortune that I’d amassed over the years of working, she said, “Just go baby.”
‘It was the first time it was like I was in control. My mom did [come and visit]. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, why I wouldn’t take the easy route sometimes, but I just don’t want to.’

‘I’m proud of where I’m at now,’ Jamie Lynn later said in a confessional, adding she was ‘really thankful’.
Britney writes of her tough connection with Jamie Lynn in her biography, The Woman In Me, saying, ‘My sister and I should have found comfort in each other, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case.
‘As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalising on it.
‘She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous. I was really let down.’
But Britney also said she ‘loved’ her sister and wished her ‘the absolute best’.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues Tuesday at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
