Following her shingles outbreak that forced her to miss time from This Morning, Holly Willoughby gave an update on her health.
The Dancing On Ice judge, 42, has missed all of this week’s episodes of the ITV daytime programme that she usually co-hosts with 61-year-old Phillip Schofield while she recovers from her illness.
According to the NHS, shingles is an illness that often affects the chest and stomach but may affect any part of the body and results in a painful rash.
Following the diagnosis, the founder of Wylde Moon had informed her fans on Sunday that she’may be absent’ from the programme for a time but will ‘be back as soon as I’m healthier.
The mother-of-three posted on her Instagram Stories on Friday that she was ‘feeling so much better’ and that Dermot O’Leary, 49, had delivered her a Reuben sandwich and soup as a thoughtful gift.
Sharing a picture of the classic New York sub, she wrote: ‘Thank you @dermotoleary for the sweetest delivery of chicken soup and salt beef… just what I needed.
‘Feeling so much better. Thank you all for your well wishes.’
Rochelle Humes, 34, who performs with The Saturdays and hosts the Hit List, has been filling in this week.
From Monday through Thursday, Rochelle co-hosted the well-liked midday show, with Alison Hammond, 48, and Dermot taking over on Friday as normal.
While Phil had a vacation from This Morning during the Easter break and his brother’s trial, he made his return on Monday, telling viewers it was “lovely to be back.”
Timothy Schofield, the brother of The Cube presenter, was charged with 11 sexual crimes against children between October 2016 and October 2019 — including two counts of engaging in sexual conduct with a minor — and was found guilty at Exeter Crown Court of sexually assaulting a young boy over a three-year period.
Phil made a statement after the guilty conviction in which he claimed he ‘no longer’ had a sibling.
He wrote on his Instagram stories: ‘My overwhelming concern is and has always been for the wellbeing of the victim and his family. I hope that their privacy will now be respected.
‘If any crime had ever been confessed to me by my sibling, I would have acted immediately to protect the victim and their family. These are despicable crimes, and I welcome the guilty verdicts.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
