Lucy Beaumont spoke up against male predators in the comedy world just weeks before Russell Brand was accused of rape, emotional abuse, and sexual assault.
In a long YouTube video, Brand, 48, rejected all charges made by many women. Following the’serious claims,’ YouTube barred the Get Him To The Greek singer from monetising his video material this morning for ‘violating Creator Responsibility policy.’
The popular TV comedian, whose remaining tour dates have already been cancelled, also appeared in a number of Hollywood films from 2006 to 2013, around the period of the alleged attacks. He is now a wellness expert on the video platform, with millions of subscribers amassed over the years.
One alleged victim said she was just 16 when Brand raped her during in his thirties, as part of a spate of allegations brought up by Channel 4 broadcasts, The Times, and The Sunday Times.
Now, a podcast recording from July has resurfaced in which comedian Lucy Beaumont claims that there are “10 to 15” predatory males on the comedy circuit.
Stuart Goldsmith, presenter of The Comedian’s Comedian podcast, asked the Hullraisers star, 40, what has held her back the most in her comic career.
In the footage, Holly is seen lifting up little Finty who had clearly, er, gone to the toilet.
Holly continued: ‘I always think it’s better out than in. We all felt relieved.’
Ferne, 33, agreed: ‘It’s better out than in. It was a poo explosion. She got a bit of stage fright, bless her, on her crisp white baby grow.’
Holly quipped that she and Finty had now ‘connected’ while Fern apologised for potentially soiling her clothes.
Holly said, pulling her dress down and inspecting it for poo stains, ‘I guess we’re fine.’
Given Holly’s three children, Harry, 14, Belle, 12, and Chester, 8, whom she has with husband Dan Baldwin, we’re sure it’s nothing she hasn’t seen before.
Ferne gave birth to Finty in July and announced the good news to her Instagram followers at the time, stating, ‘It’s a girl. 06.07.23′, next to a cute black and white video.’
Ferne subsequently revealed to OK why she selected the moniker Finty: ‘I’ve always loved it and never heard it anywhere else before.
‘I just feel so connected to the name – she came out and she was just Finty. I think she sounds like a character out of Bridgerton.’
Ferne has a five-year-old kid with her ex-partner, Arthur Collins.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
