Helen Skelton is said to be turning down a ‘huge’ offer to feature on Celebs Go Dating.
The 39-year-old broadcaster, who is claimed to have gotten exceptionally friends with professional dancer Vito Coppola on the Strictly Come Dancing tour, was a fan favourite on last year’s BBC ballroom competition and is in great demand.
The Channel 4 dating show’s producers are claimed to be eager to get her participating following her separation from rugby player spouse Richie Myler, 32, months before she debuted on the show.
A source told The Sun: ‘Helen has already proved she is great on TV and is really interesting to watch.
‘The public really felt for her after her split and bosses think everyone would love to see her dating journey.’
Despite executives’ willingness to make a sizable deal to bring her on board, Helen is said to be apprehensive about’sharing that aspect of her life’ on broadcast.
The insider added: ‘They are willing to offer her big bucks to take part, but it looks like Helen really isn’t interested in sharing that part of her life. It would take a lot to change her mind.’
The star’s eight-year marriage to Leeds Rhinos scrum-half Richie ended last year, not long after the couple had their third child, Elsie.
Helen’s ex-husband subsequently began a new relationship with Stephanie Thirkill, 32, with whom he is now pregnant.
While she is rumoured to be developing close to Vito while on tour, it appears the couple intended to keep their burgeoning romance to themselves.
‘If anyone pulled out a phone and started filming, Helen would move away from Vito. She didn’t want to be captured in the background,’ a source told the Mirror.
