Viewers were in stitches during GB News’ court re-enactment of Prince Harry on Tuesday night, describing the actor picked as a “hoot.”
The Duke of Sussex, 38, underwent hours of interrogation before the High Court today, becoming the first royal to testify in court in 130 years.
He is one of 100 celebrities participating in a lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN), currently controlled by Reach Plc.
The prince is suing MGN for damages, alleging that journalists at its titles were involved in illegal practises such as phone hacking, ‘blagging’ or getting information through trickery, and the employment of private investigators. He is one of four plaintiffs taking part in the trial.
Along with Sky News, GB News hired an actor to reenact Prince Harry’s evidence from today in rebuilt court scenes, as cameras are not permitted, to quite amusing effect.
Concerning Dan Wootton Tonight, the impersonator Prince Harry wore a white shirt, black tie, and dark suit and was recorded from various angles in front of timber panelled walls to represent the court environment.
He was also questioned by a stand-in lawyer in black robes and a cheesy white wig, who was only shot over his shoulder.
‘These #princeharry reconstructions are hilarious,’ commented one viewer, while another said: ‘The Harry on Wootton is a hoot.’
‘The chap who is portraying Prince Harry on GB News is hilariously over the top,’ chimed in someone else.
‘The re-enactment is really creepy!’ added another viewer.

Although one viewer scolded him for ‘whispering a bit,’ Prince Harry’s acting alter-ego appeared to be focused on nailing the royal’s particular tone of voice and way of speaking.
‘Apparently it’s significantly better than Sky,’ they noted.
Wootton’s panel couldn’t stop praising the actor playing Prince Harry, with journalist Amanda Platell requesting for a copy of the film to take home and US media star Megyn Kelly saying, ‘I prefer his portrayal of Prince Harry better.’
The Duke also spoke out today about Piers Morgan and other journalists reportedly ‘earwigging’ Princess Diana’s private texts, claiming it made him ‘physically nauseous’.
Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) counsel Andrew Green KC regarded Harry’s case as “fantastical.”
He said: ‘There is simply no evidence capable of supporting the finding that the Duke of Sussex was hacked, still less on a habitual basis.’
Dan Wootton Tonight airs weeknights at 9pm on GB News.
