Ferne McCann has sobbed and stated that she wishes to ‘leave the past behind’ in the wake of the voice notes controversy.
The former The Only Way is Essex star revealed her plans to take a life counselling course on the newest edition of her show First Time Mum.
Ferne, 32, said she thought the training would give her a ‘wonderful concentration’ to help her ‘leave the past behind me’ with the support of life coach Lydia Kimmerling.
‘For me I have had these massive traumas that I feel like have happened to me and massively shaped who I am,’ she explained during her first session.
‘I want to share that with people to be able to help them in so way.’
She added that because she was known for her ‘failed relationships and stuff that has been in the press recently’ she wanted to ‘find herself again’.
‘If you went back a few months ago everything felt very chaotic,’ she said.
But it was when Lydia asked Ferne what she treasured that she burst into tears.
‘I’ve never really had to think about this sorry…I don’t even know what I value,’ she said.
‘I feel very silly that I don’t even know what to say right now.’
She then began weeping when she stated that she didn’t have the solutions.
‘I am always really confident, but I feel like I’ve totally lost it,’ she said.
Ferne was able to answer some other questions as the lesson progressed, but she acknowledged afterwards that she didn’t think the course would require her to ‘dig deep’.
‘I just feel so emotional but it’s really important to take the next step in the course.’
She went on to say that she didn’t want to be remembered as ‘forever be known as the girl who makes mistakes’, but that she was now feeling like this could be a “powerful turning point.”
Ferne and Arthur Collins have a five-year-old daughter, Sunday, who is presently serving a 20-year jail sentence for throwing acid in a nightclub and injuring multiple people in 2017.
In November of last year, a voice memo was released in which she was heard referring to one of her ex’s victims as “an ugly f*****g c**t.”
She subsequently apologized, but insisted that the voice notes had been “manipulated, edited, and taken out of context.”
Last month, she admitted it wasn’t her “finest moment,” but maintained that the truth would ultimately come out, despite the fact that the episode was still under judicial investigation.
