The Traitors will include a star-studded ensemble, but some are unhappy with one casting decision.
The second season of Claudia Winkleman’s reality programme will be dramatically re-enacted, with some of our favourite performers playing the parts. The unique movie will show on BBC One this Friday in an effort to generate more funds for Comic Relief, but David Walliams’ presence has raised some questions among fans.
The 52-year-old comic will portray Traitor Paul Gorton, and he has modified his look by growing a full beard and ginger hair to mimic the reality star.
‘This would be perfect if it wasn’t for David Walliams,’ remarked viewer Lucy Clark on X.
Michelle Pryde added: ‘NO but I am OBSESSED. Ew to David Walliams being in this though.’
‘David Walliams aside, this is quite hilarious,’ said a conflicted Elliott.

Other viewers questioned how Walliams was ‘still getting work’.
‘Who keeps giving David Walliams gigs?’ asked Kyle.

Walliams was axed from Britain’s Got Talent after ten years when an expletive rant he made about contestants was leaked. The derogatory comments included calling one contestant a ‘cunt’ and saying: ‘She thinks you want to f**k her, but you don’t’ about another.
He apologised for the ‘disrespectful’ statements, but said that they were meant to be ‘private talks’.
Walliams sued production firm FremantleMedia for “significant damages.”
Fremantle apologised in November after reaching a deal with Walliams. Bruno Tonioli, a former Strictly Come Dancing judge, succeeded him for the 2023 series.
Joining Walliams are ITV drama queen Suranne Jones as Claudia, Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey as eventual winner Harry Clark, and comedian Catherine Tate, who will portray both Evie Morrison and Charlie Bees, mocking viewers’ inability to identify the two ladies.
Iain Stirling will play Ross Carson in Love Island, Kiell Smith-Bynoe will play Miles Asteri in Ghosts, Asim Chaudhry will play Detective Jaz Singh in People Just Do Nothing, and Sally Phillips will play Diane Carson.
While the majority of the ensemble has been replaced with television stars, Mollie Pearce will continue to play herself.

Diane is pretty chuffed with being played by Sally. ‘Am I ab….solute…..ly bloody flattered about being depicted by @sallysmack ??? Yes. Yes I am.’
Giving a teaser of what we can expect from the short film by asking Diane to not take offence.
‘If they kept in the bit where I was pissing about and used my may Damien from the Omen voice please don’t take it personally,’ she wrote.
Diane took it in good faith and responded: ‘Oh, I wouldn’t worry too much – I probably sound like that too, after a night on the Fizzy Rosé!!!’
The reality show has captivated audiences worldwide with its layers of deception and paranoia. Mollie’s discovery of the truth about winner Harry is a highlight of the show, and the movie will have plenty to explore.
There are two teams: Traitors and Faithfuls. To win, the Traitors must remain unknown, while the Faithfuls must figure out who they are. Every day, everyone votes on who should be expelled at a round table, and the surviving Traitors are allowed to covertly murder players.
Comic Relief: Funny for Money airs at 7pm on BBC One.
