Paula Moulton, a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, has died.
The Strictly Wheels dancer, who first competed on the talent competition in 2012, advanced to the live semi-finals after the judges gave them four yeses during their audition.
She is alleged to have died ‘suddenly’ after contracting MRSA.
‘We are heartbroken to inform the tragic demise of our co-founder Paula,’ the Strictly Wheels website said in a Facebook tribute.
‘Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this extremely sad time.
‘Paula’s legacy will always live in our memories from her utter joy of dance. #soundon for our favourite music from dance class.’
Moulton previously discussed the infection, which she contracted after contracting pneumonia and left her with a compromised pelvis, lower spine, hips, and femurs.
‘I’ve had nerve damage,’ she revealed in a 2012 interview. I can stand but not walk, and when I do stand, I wear leg splints.
‘It was 17 years ago when I got MRSA. I was so ill I can’t remember a lot about it.’
Moulton continued to The Daily Star at the time: ‘It should have killed me because I had septicaemia. I’m lucky to be alive.’
She added: ‘When I was told I’d be in a wheelchair it was actually a relief because I was falling over and I was so exhausted. Initially I managed to get up on crutches but it was causing so much damage that the only option was to use a chair full-time.’
Paula worked as a social worker prior to her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, and she began competing with her partner Gary two years before their audition.
