The involvement of Big Brother icon Davina McCall in the Doctor Who Christmas special has been confirmed in the BBC show’s first look images.
The Your Mum, My Dad host, 56, will portray herself in the episode, which will see Ncuti Gatwa, 31, take over the Tardis for his first on-screen adventure.
Davina appears in fresh photographs issued by the broadcaster, standing in front of a shooting light, wearing a black flowery dress and her hands on her hips.
The renowned TV host is expected to appear in a tale involving a Christmas tree falling on her head.
Speaking about her appearance, The Masked Singer judge said: ‘It is beyond an honour to be asked to appear in not only Doctor Who but also Ncuti’s first episode as the new Doctor.
‘It was such an extraordinary experience and Russell [T Davies] has written you all a Christmas delight! Now I just can’t wait for everyone to see it.’
Other images from the episode, titled The Church On Ruby Road, show Barbie and Sex Education star Ncuti standing in front of Christmas lights while snow falls around him.
Meanwhile, Millie Gibson, 19, is shown wearing a black jacket with fur trim as the Time Lord’s companion, while another still shows a goblin with pointed ears and teeth wearing a cap.
Former Coronation Street actress Millie will also make her Doctor Who debut as Ruby Sunday, a young lady who was born and abandoned in the snow on Christmas Eve.
Ruby lives with her mother, Carla, and grandmother, Cherry, before meeting the Doctor and seeing some odd goblins.
Davina, Ncuti, and Millie will appear with It’s A Sin actress Michelle Greenidge as Carla, soap icon Angela Wynter as Cherry, and former EastEnders star Lady Anita May as Mrs Flood in the episode, which will show on Christmas Day.
Wild Blue Yonder, Doctor Who’s second 60th anniversary special, will air this Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
David Tennant reprises his role as the 14th Doctor in the three special episodes, while comedian and actress Catherine Tate reprises her role as Donna Noble.
The third and final special, The Giggle, will premiere on December 9, while the first episode, The Star Beast, is now available on BBC iPlayer.
