Bobby Brazier may relocate from Albert Square to the West End following his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.
The 20-year-old EastEnders actor, who portrays Freddie Slater in the BBC serial, has been wowing fans and judges with his skills on the ballroom floor, and theatre executives are taking notice.
According to reports, a number of artistic directors believe Bobby is ‘leading man material’ after witnessing his abilities alongside pro partner Diane Buswell.
‘Bobby’s time on Strictly certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed by theatre bosses – they really feel he has star quality and would put bums in seats, given his huge popularity,’ a source told The Sun.
‘Bobby’s so graceful on the dancefloor they believe he wouldn’t look out of place on a big musical production, or even a play.’
His character in EastEnders To let Bobby to focus on his Strictly training, Freddie was temporarily written out of the show.
However, soap fans may be missing him for even longer as he plans to keep his dancing shoes on in the new year to take part in the Strictly Live tour.
Speaking about the upcoming project, Bobby said: ‘I love dancing and I love Strictly, so what better way to continue this brilliant experience than on the live tour!
‘I’ve heard from Dianne what a blast everyone has on the road, so I can’t wait to perform with her for those huge arena crowds next year.’
The tour will begin in Birmingham and move to Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, and Nottingham before concluding in London in February.
Bobby was asked about his future in Albert Square before embarking for Strictly, and he maintained he would return once his responsibilities on the dancefloor were completed.
‘I’m taking a break,’ he said. ‘I’ve filmed it all, and I’ll be back.’
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7.25pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
