The Great British Bake Off‘s youngest ever contestant has announced her pregnancy, ten years after her food was judged by Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry.
Martha Collison began the new year with a bang (or a bump) when she announced that she and her husband Michael Haywood are expecting their first child.
Martha had to throw in a few baking puns within the caption of a photo of herself cradling her growing bump as she stood in front of a farm of Christmas trees for the social media post.
Martha, who was just 17 when she competed in the 2014 GBBO series giving her the youngest title (of course, this does not include the Junior Bake Off stars), wrote: ‘Christmas with our own little pudding. Due to be ready in spring.’
‘#BabyBaker #BunInTheOven,’ she added.
Martha later also shared how grateful she was for her blessing: ‘Beyond thankful for this little blessing – our family is growing,’ she wrote.
The 27-year-old shared the major life update on both X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram, where she received numerous congratulatory messages.
‘Congratulations lovely xxx,’ wrote YouTube star Zoe Sugg.
GBBo alumni Selasi Gbormittah added: ‘Amazing. Congrats.’
Her GBBO co-star Nancy Birtwhistle wrote: ‘Yay – beautiful Martha x.’
The cast of Series 5 has been extremely supportive of Martha’s accomplishments. Nine celebrities attended her 2019 wedding, and each made a cake for the newlyweds to cut into. Oh, how we wish we could have been guests at this event.
Martha made it to the quarter-finals of the popular BBC show and has made a career out of her appearance.
She has two cookbooks, Twist and Crave, and has appeared on Blue Peter, The One Show, and Saturday Kitchen.
She also serves as the show chef on Virgin Radio UK’s The Graham Norton Radio Show.
