The Lateish Show, a popular Channel 4 comedy starring Mo Gilligan, is due to cease after four years on the air, leaving fans wanting more.
Mo, 35, said on Instagram that the chat show, which he launched in 2019, would conclude with a final episode on December 20.
The Lateish Show, which broadcast on Channel 4 on Wednesdays at 10 p.m., included celebrity interviews, comic sketches, and a live band in the style of other classic chat programmes.
The programme earned two Baftas during its tenure, which the former Brits presenter acknowledged on Instagram as he shared the news with followers.
He wrote: ‘So, big news to share… After four incredible years, The Christmas episode of The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan which, transmits at 10pm on Wednesday 20th December will be my last.
‘I can’t even begin to describe how proud I am of this show. It genuinely changed my life and has created an industry-wide impact. It’s won numerous awards and achieved even more nominations, but it’s the army of people behind the scenes that made it happen who are so important. There are so many moments that I’ll always look back on with so much happiness.
‘From that very first moment at Channel 4 where they took a chance on an ambitious young black creative who just couldn’t find a way into the industry. To endless creative meetings with all the team at Expectation who all worked so hard to try and make something with scale, joy and game changing ideas at its heart. ‘
He congratulated the production team, the studio crew and workers, and, of course, the many ‘amazing visitors’.
Craig David, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Lily Allen, Katherine Ryan, and Joe Lycett have all appeared on The Lateish Show for interviews over the years.
‘It’s been a huge privilege to bring people into my world every Friday night and just have fun,’ Mo added.
Fans are outraged over the loss of the famous late-night programme, flocking to social media to express their disappointment.
‘Nooooo bring it back @channel4 we need another series please P.S well done @mothecomedian,’ wrote fan Gabs.
Annalisa Dawn, upset by Radio DJ Clara Amfo’s announcement, added: ‘You and @claraamfo are killing me today.’
A third fan, Troy Harrison, shared: ‘I’m gonna miss Nursery Grimes.’

Blog I Talk Telly commented: ‘Gutted! But look at what you achieved. Can’t wait to see what’s next for you.’
Mo stated that the coming year would be a ‘busy one’ for him, but that he is ‘beyond appreciative’ for the chance and everything the show has accomplished.
He continued: ‘I promise to keep pushing for more of those opportunities for the next generation of young creatives… … And to that next young Mo, who is just trying to catch a break…To them I say, keep going.
‘Don’t give up. Everything is possible… The Lateish Show proves it ‘
The final episode of The Lateish Show airs Wednesday, December 20, at 10pm on Channel 4.
