Antony Starr, actor of The Boys, has teased a shocking sequence in Season 4 of the Amazon Prime thriller.
The cult series features The Seven, a group of corrupt superheroes who abuse their powers, while The Boys are a group of vigilantes committed to keep their misbehaviour under control.
While the plot of Season 4 remains unknown, the show’s stars have been sharing cryptic posts on their way to set, and fans have noticed an apparently dead character reappearing.
Antony, 47, who portrays The Seven’s egotistical leader The Homeland (John Gillman), has given fans a hint about what to anticipate – and it seems like we’ll all need to buckle up.
The American Gothic actor confessed that he was utterly surprised after filming one scene, calling it ‘really the most strange thing I’ve ever done.’
He told Variety: ‘I was looking at the person I was opposite and I said: “What are we doing? I can’t believe this! I could have done anything else with my life, but here I am doing this?”
‘It was truly the most bizarre thing I’ve ever done.’
In the next installment of the brilliantly bonkers show, Antony will be joined by The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
It’s unclear which team the Supernatural star will support (if any), and specifics about his role are being kept under wraps, but he has been cast as a returning guest star, according to Deadline.
It has been a long time coming for the 56-year-old actor, who previously teased that he would join the show in 2020.
Two years ago showrunner Eric Kripke thanked the actor for supporting The Boys on social media, adding: ‘I’ll make you a deal. Season 3. I’ll write it, and if you’re avail, come shoot it!’
The drama also stars Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, and Erin Moriarty, who has already spoken out about the horrific abuse she has experienced from sexist trolls since her appearance in the show.
The Boys is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
