Theo Burrell, an Antiques Roadshow expert, has spoken out about his terminal disease and advised others to ‘have hope if you can.’
Following the birth of her son, the 36-year-old announced she was diagnosed with a ‘incurable aggressive grade 4 brain tumour’ last year.
Doctors gave the ceramics specialist only two years to live after he had “surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy to keep the disease under control.”
She described her anguish at receiving the diagnosis while her kid was just one year old.
‘Receiving my diagnosis, at the age of 35, when my son was just one year old, was devastating. Overnight everything had changed,’ Theo told the Daily Mail.

‘Suddenly I’d gone from being a healthy person in the middle of my life with a new baby to having incurable cancer with maybe one or two years left to live.’
On Friday, Theo posted another health update on Instagram, saying she was amazed to be alive.
She began her statement by thanking fans and followers for their “many messages and words of encouragement.”
She added, sharing a photo of herself and a friend at a restaurant, “For everyone out there who has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour, this photo shows myself and my closest buddy during the weekend.”
‘I didn’t think I’d still be alive. I didn’t think I had a hope of being well. But I am. It will change, but right now I’m ok. I know this is not how it is for everyone, but if you’ve just been diagnosed, have hope if you can.
‘And let’s keep fighting, keep raising awareness, keep showing that we matter and that we do not accept being overlooked.’
Theo joined the Antiques Roadshow crew in 2018, and her areas of expertise include European ceramics, fine furniture, and paintings from the 18th century.
Antiques Roadshow is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
