Laura Anderson of Love Island recently revealed that she is expecting a kid as a single mother.
The 34-year-old announced in February that she was expecting her first child, and she has now spoken up about her concerns for the future.
Following her meteoric rise to popularity on the famous reality programme in 2018, the actress found love on Celebs Go Dating last year when she was paired with ex-EastEnders actor Gary Lucy, 41.
A year later, they announced they were expecting a child, but on the same day, it was reported she and Gary had split up.
Although the soap actress would be ‘engaged’ in raising their kid, Laura has revealed that having a child on her own was not something she had planned.
In a heartbreaking column for OK! the star confessed she’s ‘grieving’ for the life she thought she would be living.
‘I’ve been putting a lot of things, such as a baby shower, off,’ she explained, ‘because I feel like I’m sort of grieving the life I thought I’d have, being pregnant.’
‘It’s a grievance what I thought my life was going to be like, at this point, and how I thought my first pregnancy was going to be – settled down with my partner and raising a baby together.’
The actress then revealed that she is still digesting the idea that her life would not be as she had hoped.
Laura stated that now that she’s in her third trimester, it’s definitely time to start doing some baby buying.
‘It’s positive and negative,’ she explained, before adding: ‘I needed that push to be like, “You deserve to enjoy it”.’
The star also said – like any new parent – she’s ‘worried’ she will do something ‘wrong’.
The Love Island actress previously told the tabloid that her and Gary’s split is “very hard to explain.”
She went on to say that she wanted to make it work, but that because of “everything I found out since then” and the fact that nothing had been “settled,” it had all become too hectic, and she wanted to focus on the kid.
The actress previously confessed that she and Gary were “absolutely not” on good terms.
Laura was reportedly alleged to be’very furious’ that her ex had announced the gender of their child ‘without her consent’ in March.
