Following the death of Mr Big Carrie Bradshaw is finally ready to dip her toe back in the dating game and turned to the notoriously frustrating apps, but, just like that, her first date was a dream.
The Sex and The City reboot has followed Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) as she grieves the sudden death of Mr Big (Chris Noth), who was killed off the And Just Like That in the opening episode.
Since then, she’s sold their apartment and is now ready to mingle with some suitable bachelors after being signed up to online dating by her new pal Seema Patel (Sarita Choudbury).
And taking to the app for the first time, Carrie miraculously swiped just three times before coming across a fellow widower with the charm of George Clooney, a dreamy teacher called Peter (Jon Tenney).
While the date ended in both Carrie and her date vomiting in the street, which isn’t ideal, a second date was booked in and understandably viewers refused to believe that even Carrie Bradshaw herself would have such luck on her first dating experience.
‘I’m going to go absolutely mental,’ said one stunned audience member. ‘I know #ajlt can’t be a real show bc Carrie’s first and only match on a dating app ended up being decent?…’
Another agreed: ‘’Idk seems suspicious… And before y’all say “she’s in New York! It’s different than the south!” No it’s not. Their fish pics are either replaced by (1) Wolf of Wall Street, (2) Larry David, or (3) hair gel. Just varying forms of “my personality is ___.”’
Others noted how Carrie swiped left for a guy only to change her mind and return to the rejected profile.
If only the rest of us had the same luxury…
‘Wait a MINUTE! What dating app is Carrie on, on #AndJustLikeThat that she can swipe left then swipe them back to have another look?…’ tweeted a shocked onlooker.
If anyone has the answer, please send this way.
However, while Carrie is booked in for date number two with her lucky guy, what everyone really wants to know is will she swipe right for Aidan?
When And Just Like That was announced, it was reported John Corbett would be back as the guy we all really wanted Carrie to end up with.
‘I’m going to do the show,’ he told the publication, saying that it was ‘very exciting’ news.
And Just Like That airs Thursdays on Sky Comedy on NOW TV.
