Loyal Maddy Smedley and ultimate Traitor Wilfred Webster were joined by Alison Hammond, Danny Dyer, and even Dame Merry Berry in a weird crossover.
The conversation turned even more heated when Dawn French became ‘half woman, half fringe,’ also known as Claudia Winkleman.
The Traitors made a triumphant comeback to our screens with the celebrity version we’d all been anticipating – and it did not disappoint.
Dawn (or, rather, Claudia) walked into the roundtable grilled in a traditional pinafore, the neck as high as ever in a homage to Claudia’s distinctive appearance.
‘Who are the Traitors?’ She cautioned as hoods were removed one by one.
And each time, we were taken aback.
First up was Alison, the freshly announced Great British Bake Off presenter, who grooved to ‘Hammond time’ before being asked who she believed the true Traitor was.
He said that it wasn’t Stephen Merchant, nor was it Ewan McGregor’s Obi Wan Kenobi or Big Zuu.
Rosie Jones, a comic, and Dame Mary, who was considerably more interested in the cake than in playing detective, were also present at the roundtable.
Danny from EastEnders raised his hood at the sound of ‘pure evil,’ shielding himself against any charges.
‘It might not be me treacle, but someone around this table is a meat and potato… a Traitor,’ he added, before the dramatic EastEnders music begun.
He then mentioned his co-star, our own Maddy.
Revealing herself, she delivered her signature line: ‘Well, I was in one episode of EastEnders, I played a woman called Rita, and I played a woman without a womb on Casualty’.
She then walked around the room, just as in the series, calling out anyone she thought was a faithful or a traitor.
And when she went to Wilf, it was as if nothing had changed.
‘Maddy can you give it a rest?!’ he cried, before pointing his own finger at Dawn’s partner in crime, Jennifer Saunders.
All of the competitors, including Anne Robinson and David Gandy, were eventually disclosed (who had their own Tom and Alex moment).
And last, the Traitor was revealed, and of course, it was Claudia who did it.
‘You don’t sound like me, you aren’t as orange as me, and your wig is much, much better than mine,’ Claudia told Dawn, taking over her rightful place.
Claudia, like the rest of us, was left chuckling at the end of the sketch when Jen questioned her: ‘I must say, Davina, you’ve done so much for the menopause, and look at you, like a spring chicken.
‘Where do you get your hormones from these days?’
Both The Traitors and Comic Relief are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
