If you’ve ever had those mornings when you want a McMuffin but can’t get to McDonald’s, there’s hope.
Because Lidl is now offering a gizmo that will allow you to make your own version of the McMuffin in the comfort of your own kitchen – and best of all, it’s on sale.
The Drew and Cole breakfast sandwich maker is retailing there for just £24.99, with the supermarket chain’the world’s most famous egg muffin breakfast sandwich and more at home’.
And bargain hunters have been racing to snap it up after one person posted news of the knockdown price on Facebook group Food Finds UK.
‘Found this in Lidl £24.99,’ the post read, with other users flocking to the group to share their views.
‘We need one of these!’ one person wrote, while another added that they could have ‘homemade McMuffs’.
The device, according to Lidl, will make ‘hot and tasty sandwiches in only five minutes’ and includes a three-layer cooking mechanism, which means you can toast the muffin, fry the egg, and heat the meat all at the same time if you want to make your own version of the McMuffin.

It’s also said to be easy to clean, thanks to nonstick frying plates and retractable cooking rings.
And given that the recommended retail price according to Drew and Cole’s website is £39.99 – the same price it’s going for in other retailers including B&Q, Asda, Amazon and Currys – this one’s worth taking the trip to Lidl for.
They’ve even given some hints and tips on their website for how to make the perfect breakfast sandwich, as follows:
- Add bread, pre-cooked meat or veggies and cheese, if desired.
- Slide over the central cooking plate and add an egg.
- Top the egg with second slice of bread and close the lid.
- In five minutes, slide out the egg plate to assemble your sandwich and enjoy!
If McMuffins aren’t your thing, the sandwich machine can also be used to produce cheese toasties, small pizzas, tacos, and even desserts.
You’ll be spoiled for choice because it works with practically every sort of bread, as well as waffles, croissants, and pancakes.
