Guess which toy is back on the John Lewis top 10 toys for Christmas 2023 – a hint: its pink

It may seem premature to start thinking about Christmas gifts in July, but budgeting ahead of time is usually a smart idea, especially with money being particularly tight this year.

To get you started, John Lewis has released its annual list of the best toys to purchase for Christmas 2023, with prices beginning at £14.99.

And there are a few standout tendencies in this year’s round-up.

It’s hardly surprising that Barbie sales are up 31% at the shop compared to this time last year.

But Barbie isn’t the only nostalgic toy making a comeback; Furbies are also making a comeback, and both toys are on this year’s top ten list.

A Cockapoo puppy, a DJ mix and learn deck, a barber role play set, and a wooden café are all among the top options.

These toys were chosen by youngsters aged five to ten after hours of playtime, so they won’t disappoint when Christmas Day arrives.

The company’s buyers developed the top ten list of toys after “months of sourcing and testing,” and the top picks were then play-tested with youngsters aged five to ten. Following comprehensive testing by the retailer’s Toy Testing Panel of young experts, each kid tester was asked to choose their favourite toys from the collection.

According to the shop, hundreds of goods were narrowed to the top 10, which are mentioned below. Top toys include a Furby throwback from the 1990s, modern licences such as Gabby’s Dollhouse, cutting-edge electronics and interactive toys, some John Lewis exclusives, and lots of role play fun.

It’s also worth noting that many of these toys aren’t yet available for purchase, with many arriving at the end of August, but a few have already arrived. –
