A jumper dress might just be your new favourite autumn/winter outfit for staying snug indoors, and making a quick trip outside when necessary. I’m a huge fan of knitted dresses, and I’ve been singing their praises for years – so I’m more than pleased that this trend is finally catching on, and the selection available online is divine. But before you search the web looking for the perfect jumper dress, I’ve found a few pieces that you need to see first.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of wearing a knit midi dress with mid-heel, calf-high boots. I love that this outfit combination makes me feel put together with minimal effort and it transitions between events so well. In the years BC (before coronavirus), I would wear fitted jumper dresses to work on days that I had special meetings, or on those Fridays where I’d meet the girls at the pub for a pint. Whether it was casual, a more formal occasion, or even a date night with my partner – I always felt a bit more sophisticated in my knitted midis.
These days, it’s such an easy roll-out-of-bed outfit. A jumper dress is super cosy when worn indoors, and it’s great for layering as the season gets colder. Overall, I’ve found that the jumper dresses I own have always saved the day when I didn’t know what to wear in the autumn and winter months – especially when you’re not in the mood for jeans or trousers! Most of the dresses I wear, love, and have lasted for the past few seasons are from &Other Stories, but I’m keeping my eye on pieces from Christopher Esber for when I’m in the mood (and have saved up quite a bit) to treat myself.
