One of the biggest – and most well-known – rules for guests at a wedding is to not, under any circumstances, wear a white dress.
Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia went one step beyond by wearing, not just a white dress attending the nuptials a close friend is not a reason to wear white.
Colton Underwood, star of The Bachelor, married his longtime boyfriend Jordan C Brown this week in a beautiful beach ceremony. Olivia was one of the guests and even asked to make a toast.
This Tuesday the mother-of-two shared a snap of herself in a wedding dress to Instagram and revealed she ‘wore a wedding dress to a wedding just so I could make a joke about it in my toast.’
She later shared a snap of her dancing with the newly-married couple, adding: ‘The grooms approved.’
However even with the explanation, the joke did not go down well with social media users, and one complained she was ‘trying to make [the wedding] ‘About her.
‘Why would she do that,’ another lamented, while another declared it ‘weird asf.’
‘I’d be highkey mad if someone did this on my wedding day,’ another raged, with another agreeing she would have ‘kicked her out if that was my wedding.’
Others defended Olivia however, with one arguing there she didn’t ‘see a problem if there’s no bride.’
Another agreed: ‘If the grooms weren’t mad why should you be genuine question.’
One said people were being ‘so nasty when she’s just being a little silly with her friends.’
Olivia’s divorce from ex-Jason Sudeikis is underway, including a battle for custody of their two children, Otis (8 years old) and Daisy (5 years old).
Recent photos show the couple putting on a united appearance at Otis soccer match. They were snapped hugging each other before the start of the match.
Olivia was later pictured jumping with joy after her oldest son scored a goal.
They first met in 2011 and began dating. The couple got married in 2013.
Otis was born the next year.
