Jodie Comer returns in an exciting new teaser for the forthcoming film The End We Begin From.
The famous actress has previously wowed viewers in films such as Killing Eve and Help, and her next movie is set to enter theatres early next year.
The End We Start From, based on Megan Hunter’s novel, portrays Jodie as a desperate new mother struggling to live with her kid after devastating floods destroy everything she knows.
The survival thriller’s trailer has recently been published, showing both the world before and the wasteland Jodie’s heroine explores with her infant.
It begins with Jodie, who plays Mother, prepared to receive her baby as she rests naked in the bath cradling her pregnancy.
The serene moment is shortly disturbed by massive floods flooding London as she gives birth, forcing her to flee as her family is ripped apart.
Mother may be seen protectively cradling her infant while urgently attempting to get food, trudging through the bush and wailing in agony.
It concludes with her stating that she’s going home – whatever that means at this point.
An official synopsis for the edge-of-your-seat film reads: ‘When an environmental crisis sees London submerged by flood waters, a young family is torn apart in the chaos.’
‘As a woman and her newborn try to find their way home, the profound novelty of motherhood is brought into sharp focus in this dystopian portrayal of family survival and hope.’
Jodie is in the film with Benedict Cumberbatch, who also serves as an executive producer, and Joel Fry, who plays R, Mother’s love interest.
While R appears early in the teaser, he disappears after the flooding sequence, leaving viewers to wonder what happened to him and what Mother expects to discover back in London after the ecological calamity.
Speaking previously about The End We Start From, Jodie said: ‘My character is ordinary and extraordinary.
‘Both her very personal life and the world around her have been turned upside down and she is dealing with the unknown at every turn.
‘Her story is about the quiet heroics of determination, devotion, bravery and love.’
The End We Start From hits cinemas on January 19.
