Martha Stewart has been named the next Sports Illustrated model for 2023, joining Megan Fox, Kim Petras, and Brooks Nader on the cover.
When she was announced, the TV personality and entrepreneur made history by becoming the oldest cover model in history at the age of 81.
A real legend.
She can be seen standing in a white bikini and a gold jacket in the main photo, which was taken in the Dominican Republic.
Another shot showed the author enjoying the gorgeous sandy beaches in a gold one-piece with tie-up embellishments and a large straw hat.
‘When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person I think ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,’ Martha told the outlet.
‘And I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic.’
She added that she wanted to take part in the picture to illustrate that women of all ages can feel beautiful.
‘Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success, but what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what’s important and not your age,’ she added.
Martha is following in the footsteps of celebrities such as Ciara, Kim Kardashian, Maya Musk, and Megan Thee Stallion with the photographs.
During an appearance on the Today show earlier this morning, the baking queen stated that taking part was a ‘tough,’ but it was an opportunity she welcomed.
‘To be on the cover my age was a challenge. and I think I met the challenge,’ she told the hosts.
‘For me, it is a testament to good living. And I think that all of us should think about good living, successful living and not about aging. The whole aging thing is so boring.
‘I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple months. I went to Pilates every other day… I live a clean life anyway.
‘Good diet and good exercise and healthy skin care and all of that stuff, but it was kind of fun.’
