Shaughna Phillips prompted suspicion she’d given birth this week when she uploaded a snap of a placenta kit.
Placenta Plus is a firm that helps new moms transform their placentas into vitamins, so when the Love Island actress said she’d started the placenta encapsulation process, some of her fans believed she’d welcomed her kid.
But, Shaughna, a soon-to-be mother of one, verified on Tuesday that this was not the case and that the package was simply a preparation kit.
Posting to Instagram, the 28-year-old reality actress unzipped her hoodie to expose her bump and wrote: ‘Sorry folks I guess I misled a bunch of people think baby was here after I revealed my placenta plus box!’
Shaughna added: ‘Baby is still very much snug as a bug; it was just the preparation kit that was delivered. Four days until due date, my lil Aries baby.’
This month, the TV star was admitted to the hospital after going into premature labour.
Posting about the situation on social media, Shaughna said: ‘Soooo what started as a “come to work with me” reel, turned into a “come to the hospital with me”.’
She added: ‘I had my last job before baby this morning, an international women’s day panel, and just before my cab arrived, things took a turn and I was on the way to the hospital and have been told I’m in early labour.
‘Home now, baby still tucked up nicely, and waiting for nature to do it’s thang.’
Shaughna is expecting her first child with ex-boyfriend Billy Webb, 29, who was arrested and accused in January with possession with intent to distribute a Class A narcotic.
Shaughna discussed the impact his arrest had on her pregnant at the time.
‘After a challenging few weeks, obviously, the baby’s father isn’t around. But my main focus has always been just to prepare for the birth and try to be as calm as possible,’ she shared with OK!.
‘I’m good at just saying: “Right, the show must go on”.’
