After confirming that he is being treated for stage three blood cancer, Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill has reassured fans.
After being diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, the Peaky Blinders star has been undergoing chemotherapy.
The Hunt for the Wilderpeople star was diagnosed with the condition after having swollen glands during Jurassic World Dominion press last March.
While he is now cancer-free, it is predicted that he will have monthly treatment for the remainder of his life. He authored his memoir Did I Ever Told You This? while undergoing cancer treatment.
The Hollywood told the Guardian that his upcoming book gave him a ‘reason to live’.
The Commuter star has subsequently provided another update on his health, assuring his worried fans that he is ‘healthy.’
In a post posted to Instagram on Saturday, he said: ‘My news is all over the news at the moment, and it’s sort of [like], “Cancer, cancer cancer” and it’s slightly tiresome because as you see, I’m alive and well.
‘I have been in remission for eight months, which feels really good. And I’m alive and kicking and I’m going to work.’
Neill also stated that he is ‘eager’ to return to work, with production on the Peacock limited series Apples Never Fall beginning in seven days.
The drama, which also stars Annette Bening, is based on the best-selling novel of Big Little Lies and Perfect Strangers author Liane Moriarty.
Joy (Bening) and Stan (Neill), former tennis teachers and parents, look to have the perfect family from the outside, but that begins to collapse when Joy departs.
Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) is a non-Hodgkin lymphoma that develops from white blood cells termed T cells, according to Lymphoma Action.
Several T-cell lymphomas have intricate names based on the type of cell that develops or the proteins that are produced.
The actor, who played Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park trilogy again last year, also played Major Chester Campbell in the acclaimed BBC series Peaky Blinders.
