Judge Judy has no time for anti-maskers during the coronavirus pandemic and if she sees you without your face protection, she’s going to call you out for.
That’s exactly what happened to one guy who happened to be in the same hair salon as the US television star and without his mask.
Speaking to the New York Post, Judge Judy – real name Judy Sheindlin – said she gave the man in question a firsthand taste of her no-nonsense attitude and wisecracking she uses in the courtroom.
Making sure to hold the man accountable, Judy, 77, who was fully masked herself for her appointment, told the publication: ‘I walked up to him and he looked at me and smiled.
‘I was wearing my mask, with my smock on and my hair dripping wet. I said to him, “Do you like Judge Judy?” He said, “Oh yes,” and I said, “Not after today,” and proceeded to lace into him about respecting other people and how other people are minding you by wearing a mask.’
The family court judge continued: ‘I said to him, “You must be some kind of narcissist or there’s something that I don’t see that makes you unique and special.”‘
‘I did my own Judge Judy on him,’ she joked, before revealing that the man came back over – with his mask on – and apologised to her.
Wearing protective face coverings over your nose and mouth has become mandatory amid the coronavirus pandemic and Judge Judy isn’t the only celeb who has been urging fans to mask up.
Jennifer Aniston had told her followers to ‘wear a damn mask’, with Olivia Wilde, Reese Witherspoon, Matt Bomer, and Julia Roberts all supporting the Friends star as she did so.
Judy’s latest interview comes after it was revealed her much-loved series would be coming to an end after 25 years.
The star announced plans to wrap up the show for good to Ellen DeGeneres in March, earlier this year.
She revealed: ‘I’ve had a 25-year-long marriage with CBS, and it’s been successful; next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary.
‘And CBS sort of felt, I think, they wanted to optimally utilise the repeats of my program, because now they have 25 years of reruns; so what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years’ worth of reruns.’
The show sees resident New Yorker Judy taking on real smalls-claims cases in a televised court room and will air its final season will air next year in 2021, with re-runs expected to continue showing.
Judy teased that she is set to star in a new series titled Judy Justice – thought to be another reality court show – which is set to drop in 2022.
