The Real Full Monty On Ice viewers were left gutted when Jamie Lomas was forced to quit after testing positive for coronavirus.
The Hollyoaks actor was preparing to strip off for the cameras with a host of other celebs in order to raise awareness in aid of cancer charities, but unfortunately with days to go, tested positive.
Head choreographer and group leader Ashley Banjo then had to break the news to the team that Jamie would no longer take part in the series.
On top of that, their routine, which would see them ice skate and strip at the same time, would have to be changed in order to fill the gap he left behind.
The cast – including Jake Quickenden, Chris Hughes, Coleen Nolan and Linda Lusardi – were left in a panic over what that meant for the show.
Thankfully, they were able to recover and come up with a new routine, and viewers praised the bravery of the celebs as they got their kit off for a good cause.
Real Full Monty viewers were devastated but wished Jamie a speedy recovery.
While Jamie couldn’t join the team for the final performance, he did dial in to watch the final show, and cheered the gang on as part of the virtual audience which zoomed into watch the show.
The specials were done in order to raise awareness for how to check your breasts and testicles in case of cancerous lumps.
It held particular emotional resonance to all involved – with all having had cancer or losing someone to the disease.
