Jonnie Irwin has spoken out about how ‘frustrated’ he is with his terminal disease.
The 49-year-old A Place in the Sun host revealed publicly in November that he didn’t know how long he had to live after a lung malignancy spread to his brain.
Jonnie has subsequently kept his fans up to date on his therapy and the emotional milestones for his family as he makes the most of his final days.
However, his three young boys, whom he shares with wife Jess, are ignorant of his disease because Jonnie doesn’t want to ‘confuse’ them, so he’s focused on making memories instead.
Now, the real estate guru has provided an open update on how he is dealing with the sickness.
The TV actor took to Instagram to post a series of photographs of himself relaxing with wellness services at one of his favourite clinics.
Jonnie was photographed lying down with a mask over his face, posing with the therapists at Serenti Health & Wellness, and smiling in a picture shot outdoors.
‘The wait for new scans is annoying when you know the cancer is on the march again,’ he said in the caption.
‘Meanwhile, there’s stuff I can do to make the terrain as tough as possible for growth and the ladies down at @sereniti_health are part of my team of suppliers for various therapies.’
‘I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting to tap into a healthier lifestyle,’ he added.
‘Big shout as always goes to @how_to_starve_cancer whose constant help has a huge impact. #respect’, Jonnie concluded.
Jonnie’s hundreds of admirers, as usual, swarmed to the comments section to pour adulation on him.
One follower commented: ‘never give up fighting! ❤️’
‘Love and light Jonnie. You got this 💪🏼’, wrote another.
‘Wishing you many happy days with your family, Jonnie x’, another said.
Jonnie’s post comes after he shared his health is declining.
The father-of-three acknowledged to his followers that he’s been ‘very ill’ and ‘hasn’t been feeling well’ in recent weeks.
Having come home after a summer holiday with his gorgeous family, he’s been taking advantage of every chance to celebrate major milestones with his children.
Eldest Rex, four, began primary school last month, which made Jonnie quite upset.
Jonnie, who also has two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac, posted a cute photo of Rex looking dapper in his uniform, stating in the caption,’so proud of him I could burst.’
The Escape to the Country is unclear how much time he has with his family.
But he has already overcome the odds, since doctors earlier predicted he would not live beyond 2023.
