Jonnie Irwin’s newest update has warmed hearts after disclosing that he ‘hasn’t been feeling great.’
The 49-year-old A Place in the Sun host disclosed in November that he had terminal disease, with a lung tumour spreading to his brain.
Jonnie has since recorded his therapy and discussed the highs and lows of his life, but his three young boys are still uninformed of his sickness because he didn’t want to ‘confuse’ them.
Jonnie acknowledged to suffering this week in his most recent post.
He came to Instagram to post a series of cute photos of his children attending a monster truck event.
With wife Jess, he has four-year-old Rex and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.
‘Been pretty unwell this past week but felt better this morning so headed off to watch some Monster trucks,’ he wrote in the caption.
‘Kids loved it, got soaked in the rain, quick change when we got home to go again at a Christening party. Full on Sunday,’ Jonnie added.
The first photo had one of his boys on his shoulders, and he also uploaded a video of them staring in wonder at the trucks.
Jonnie stood with his arm over Jess in a third snap, holding a drink in his other hand.
The property guru has the full backing of his supporters as he makes the most of his dying hours.
One person commented: ‘So pleased to hear you to felt a bit better today. You’ve had a full on day. I hope you’re chilling well tonight. ❤️❤️❤️’
‘You should be proud of yourself everything you are going through and you still put your family first. Total respect’, said another.
‘I am amazed as to where do you get your strength from! Stay strong and keep making memories 💪 Sending lots and lots of love 💕’, a follower added.
Jonnie has spent a lot of time with his family this summer, taking a vacation to truly rest and relax.
Following what he characterised as the “best” vacation, there was an emotional milestone ahead, as oldest Rex began primary school.
Sharing the most precious snap of Rex looking very smart in his uniform, Jonnie wrote in the caption that he is ‘so proud of him I could burst.’
The Escape to the Country star has stated publicly that he has no idea how long he has left to live.
Professionals earlier informed him that he would not be seen until 2023.
When asked what advise he would give to individuals in his position back in July, he told BBC One’s Morning Live: ‘First of all, embrace it.’
Jonnie then talked about his experience with palliative care.
‘I implore people to check out the hospice – if you’ve got the choice of using it, then use it,’ he stated.
Dr. Ranj Singh, a former Strictly Come Dancing contender, was also on Morning Live, stating that he feels “we need to reframe how people think” about palliative care.
‘You have a right to a choice of a hospice if you so wish, I would encourage people to at least explore that option,’ Jonnie added.
