After their newborn girl said her first word, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen posted a video that will warm your heart.
The 44-year-old American pop musician and 37-year-old former model have four children together, the most recent being son Wren Alexander, who was born in June of this year.
John and Chrissy married in September 2013 after meeting seven years before, and their first child, Luna, was born in the spring of 2016.
Miles, their second kid, was born in May 2018, and Esti, their third child, was born in January of this year, all by in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
Esti, who is just eight months old, appears to be getting communicative with her parents, and John was on hand to catch the heartwarming event.
In the personal family video, John can be caught asking Esti, ‘What’s my name?’ before Chrissy and a loved one attempt to assist her pronounce ‘Dada’.
A smile then forms on Esti’s face as she looks John in the eye and repeats: ‘Dada.’It’s a moment that excited Chrissy and John, although maybe a little too much.
While the couple rightly cheered with delight at Esti’s remarks, their infant became agitated by the ruckus and the video cut as she began to wail.
Chrissy is seen in the video cuddling Wren Alexander, who was born via surrogacy to the couple’s true names, John Stephens and Christine Teigen.
The family of six was spotted in heartwarming family photographs last week, going out to a tropical locale for their first vacation since their new baby arrived.
The pair reported at the end of 2020 that Chrissy miscarried due to a medical problem, which would have been their third child.
A statement published at the time said: ‘On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through.’
Last year, however, Chrissy referred to the tragic incident as ‘an abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance [of survival]’.
