Jessie J has commended single parents despite struggling to care for her newborn boy alone.
Sky, the singer’s newborn child, was born in May with her basketball star partner Chanan Safir Colman, 39.
However, with Chanan gone for the night, Jessie shared her struggles with Sky.
The new mother captioned a cute video of her kid dozing in his cot, ‘Legit haven’t slept in 3 days. Daddy away so all me. And he has turned into a snoring gremlin clarinet. Help.’
We like the’snoring gremlin clarinet,’ but we get her perspective.
The Price Tag hitmaker then made a candid revelation in her subsequent column, which focused on lone parents.
‘I have never been this tired in all my life,’ she began.
‘Hugging all the mums and dads doing it alone right now,’ she added.
‘Delusional, exhausted and doing your best. You the mvp.’
Following up with another example of her tiredness, the performer revealed: ‘I just put the bottle down and fed him the lid. Nope.’
Since becoming a mother for the first time, the actress has continued to share photos and musings on Instagram, demonstrating that she is very much keeping it real – and urging everyone else to do the same.
She addressed the insidious ‘snap-back’ mentality around new mothers hurrying to shed the weight they gained during pregnancy in order to regain their former ‘figure’ earlier this week, and she is not going to stand for it.
‘Couple of people have said to me, “I bet you can’t wait to get your body back”,’ the hitmaker began her Story, adding an eye-rolling and a shushing emoji as she recounted real-life conversations.
‘My reply is… “I don’t want to go back. That body is gone. I want my body to go forward. I’m getting my body forward”,’ she revealed in an empowering statement.
Jessie then added: ‘That’s the vibe ladies. Embrace that bowdddddy!’
She has also been open with her fans about her love for her postpartum figure, advising her 13.6 million followers to be gentle with themselves while still totally embracing it in a swimsuit photo taken only weeks after giving birth to her baby.
She wrote: ‘Your body was a home for someone else to live in for 9 months.
Your organs have moved and need to find their way back to where they were before.’
