This Harry Potter actor does not resemble the character from the films.
Chris Rankin, 40, first appeared on our screens in 2001 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and he had an important role in the movie with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.
If you don’t identify him, consider the prefect who enjoyed being a prefect at school a little too much.
This wizard’s wand emits a lot of head boy energy throughout the movie, and he even abandons his ginger-haired family in the latter flicks in pursuit of political clout.
Of course, it’s Percy Weasley, the third eldest of Ron’s siblings, who enjoys a career in the Ministry of Magic after graduating from Hogwarts.
He initially appeared on our screens at the age of 16 as the Gryffindor prefect who guided apprehensive newcomers in Harry’s year to their dorms, and he recorded his final scene 11 years later.
In the latter films, he appears briefly in the background, as he drifted away from the Weasley family in the novels, poisoned by the quest of power in the magical world’s political echelons, which were steadily turning evil.
The novel depicts Percy realising his separation from his family and apologising to them during the Battle of Hogwarts, which is featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, although this is never addressed in the films.
Chris is now giving fans Christmas and birthday messages on the subscription video site Cameo, more than 20 years after his initial appearance in Harry Potter.
According to his website, Chris is now a performer, director, producer, and creative. He currently resides in South Wales with his partner Ness and their dogs Stanley and Boo.
In comparison to his magical counterparts, Chris does not charge a premium for the video service; in fact, a bespoke message costs only £28.
Bonnie Wright, who plays Ginny Weasley in the film franchise, and Jamie Waylett, who plays Vincent Crabbe in six of the eight films, are both asking £158.

His recent video introduced himself on Cameo, after a hiatus.
‘Hello you fabulous magical people on Cameo. It’s Chris Rankin here, Percy Weasley from the Harry Potter films, yes Hogwarts head boy and everyone’s seventh favourite Weasley child,’ he began.
‘I’ve been off Cameo for a little while now because I’ve been a busy old bee trotting around Europe on a tour, but I am now back, and I am here for all your possible video requests.
‘Whether it’s a video just for yourself, whether its Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Boxing Day, Valentine’s Day, birthdays, weddings, anything and everything.
‘Please give me a shout if you need a video message, because I am happy to make a fool of myself on camera, just for you.’
His videos to fans are usually happy and giving, and the actor – who is now also a blogger – occasionally even breaks into song if you’re lucky.
Chris is now publishing on a regular basis, so if you need a last-minute Christmas present for a Potterhead, you know where to go.
