David Beckham has been living his best life (let’s be honest, when isn’t he?) and eating more nice food.
The former Manchester United star is always showing off his fave cuisines on social media, making bellies grumble as he tucks into delicacies from all around the world on his trips.
His most recent visit is Spain, where we wish we were spending January, despite the howling winds and frigid temperatures.
Becks, 48, not only ate some great food at Botafumeiro but also had it served to him by the restaurant manager – of course.
And, in classic Beckham flair, the restaurant is not cheap.
Juan Jesús Pérez Alonso used Instagram to promote his business by sharing a video of himself getting close to customers.
Scooping up a large forkful of young eel, he held it up to David’s lips, where he gladly gobbled it up with a smile.
Ever the professional, he even held a serviette under Becks’ chin to prevent spills.
During the intimate event, the restaurateur took joy in wiping David’s face, eliciting laughter from the table.
David certainly enjoyed the attention and had quite a spread in front of him as he dined with a bunch of friends.
Fans of the video, which has been seen over 260,000 times, praised the interaction between the affable manager and sporting great in the comments section.
‘You are phenomenal, Jesus!’, praised user martona90.
‘Omg. Big fan of David ’, wrote marycr.7.
Later, David took to Instagram to tell more about his dining experience.
Posing with his percebes, a rare seafood from Portugal, he wrote: ‘One of my favourite things to eat when in season in (Spanish flag emoji)’.
‘Soooooooooo good’, he added with, ‘Gracias’.
The ‘rare’ seafood in question is considered the world’s most costly seafood.
Amazingly, the delicacy may cost up to £400 per lb, or £80 for a chunk of 15 to 20.
Percebes are extremely costly due to the dangers that fisherman face throughout the collecting procedure.
Prices for the rest of the menu are not available online, although a prior reviewer provided information for uncertain clients.
As per MailOnline, a green salad starter at Botafumeiro costs €13.75 (£11.76), while a lobster cocktail starter is €33.75 (£28.85).
A seafood plate for two costs €145 (£123.97), which brings the reviewer’s total tab for one to €158 (£137).
That won’t hurt David, who made a lot of money last year.
When David presented his 2023 profits, which mostly featured the success of his Netflix documentary series, jaws dropped.
Becks earned £20 million from a record-breaking docuseries that drew 3.8 million viewers in its first week.
According to business numbers posted on Friday (December 29), David Beckham Ventures Limited and Seven Global LLP generated a staggering £72.6 million profit from sponsorships and David’s production firm.
Was it indeed a golden year for Golden Balls – percebes all around?
