Christine McGuinness has given fans an update on the health of her husband, Paddy McGuinness, after his recent surgery.
The Top Gear star, 48, had surgery on his knee last week after sustaining a painful injury while taking part in Soccer Aid 2021.
Paddy was forced to withdraw from the competition after tearing his lateral meniscus, which he joked at the time was ‘not something that can be sorted with the magic sponge’.
The former Take Me Out Host had to wait six months for an operation to fix the issue, and this week finally went under the knife.
His wife Christine has now given fans the happy update that Paddy is doing well – and even joked that he’s ‘milking it’.
She told OK! Online: ‘He’s absolutely fine. He’s milking it, obviously, he’s a man, and he’s got to try and rest as much as possible.
‘It’s an old injury and he’s just been waiting for some time off work to get it sorted, and he has done now, so he’s absolutely fine.’
Paddy himself had shared a photograph of his knee to Instagram following the operation, and said it was ‘such a relief to finally get it sorted’.
‘Few days rest now, then we get this puppy moving,’ he added
Paddy’s long road to recovery comes after he suffered the knee injury all the way back in September 2021 and was forced to pull out of Soccer Aid just hours before kick-off.
The dad-of-three told fans at the time that he was ‘gutted’ to have to pull out but had no other choice.
The annual football match sees celebrities and football legends from England and the Rest of the World take each other on in order to raise money for Unicef.
