Jordan North made a savage comeback after a listener text in to his BBC Radio 1 show to say they were switching over to Capital, his former employer.
The I’m A Celebrity runner-up, 30, had a sassy moment on air during his show after repeated texts asking him to play a song from Blackout Crew.
He read out some of the messages on air, telling his listeners: ‘“Jordan, play Blackout Crew or I’m switching to Capital”.
‘If you want to listen to the same four songs in a row and adverts every five minutes, crack on, son.’
He then played a track before apologising for his savage statement – but wasn’t finished there.
Jordan continued: ‘Sorry, I got a bit sassy before. So many people texted in: “Wow Jordan, shots fired there!” Emma says: “Throwing so much shade at that other radio station there, Jordan. Love it.”
‘Sorry, just being a bit sassy… The person that’s text in to say they were going to listen to that other station says: “I couldn’t do it to myself, Jordan, nor you”. Thank you.
‘I don’t know where that came from. The fact I used to work for them maybe… Anyway, Stormzy on the way.’
He then put on a posh accent to joke: ‘“What we’re going to do is we’re going to take your personality and we’re going to turn it into a robot and we want you to talk like this…”’
Listeners were stunned to hear the Burnley lad’s comments, tweeting: ‘A @BBCR1 listener threatens to switch to Capital and quick as you like, @jordannorth1 quips “if you wanna listen to the same four songs in a row and adverts every 5 mins, you crack on son” and just like that, I spat my tea all over my keyboard.’
Jordan’s popularity has soared since his appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here where he finished in second place to Giovanna Fletcher in the first series to be held in a castle in Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic preventing the show from heading to Australia like usual.
Viewers had loved seeing him overcome his many fears and head to his ‘happy place’ in his head to complete the trials and win food for camp.
