This past weekend, Ashley Cole and his partner Sharon Canu were married once more.
16 months after he proposed, the former player, 42, wed model Sharon in a private ceremony in Italy.
The couple brought their closest friends and relatives to a coastal spot when they were surrounded by family and friends.
The bride, who looked lovely in a lace gown, said their vows in front of a flowery arch.
As they departed the ceremony and were showered with confetti, Ashley, who was dressed sharply in a black tux, smiled from ear to ear.
Although it was a tiny ceremony, as to be expected, there was a star guest list.
In front of Frank and Christine Lampard, John Terry, Sam Faiers, and her boyfriend Paul Knightley, the pair exchanged vows.
A wild hen party was previously held for Sharon, and she enjoyed the sunshine with a group of friends, including former Towie star Sam.
Their beach wedding happened as a result of information provided to The Sun by a source earlier this month.
‘Ashley and Sharon are madly in love and have spent months planning their special day,’ they said.
‘They met in 2014 when he joined AS Roma and now they are returning to the city for their nuptials.
‘Loads of her family live there and it’s very romantic – it’s going to be a very special day. They have put lots of money into it but they have only invited close friends and family.’
The insider added: ‘As a couple, they have been very private so they don’t feel the need for a flashy, public wedding.’
Ashley and Sharon met in 2014, and after getting engaged the following year, they now had a boy named Jaxon, 6, and a daughter named Grace, 4.
Twelve years have passed since Ashley’s split from pop diva Cheryl, with whom he was wed from 2006 to 2010.
It’s reasonable to say that their breakup was a catastrophe and that it happened in the open.
Despite their attempts to mend fences, Ashley’s infidelity was revealed.
Unfortunately, in the beginning of 2010, it was claimed that the former football star had cheated on Cheryl with four other women, months after they had decided to proceed with their marriage.
Writing about the moment she learned about his cheating, Cheryl wrote in her explosive memoir: ‘”I hope you enjoyed it!”, I screamed. “I hope she was worth it! It’s the end of your marriage!
‘”You don’t understand what you’ve done”.’
She added: ‘After hours of me ranting, screaming and crying uncontrollably, I was exhausted.’
She was married to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini from 2014 to 2016, and she and Liam Payne have a son named Bear, who is six years old. The Girls Aloud actress has kept her love life pretty secret in recent years.
