Amy Willerton’s sister Erin has mused she’s ‘still standing’ as she heads into June, following a horrific health battle in May which saw her rushed to hospital.
The influencer revealed this week she had suffered three strokes and nearly had to undergo emergency brain surgery following a blood clot in her neck.
Alongside a photo of her throwing a peace sign from a hospital bed, Erin, 24, wrote: ‘Ended the month of May with 3 strokes, a blood clot in my neck and possible emergency brain surgery.
‘Alexa play I’m still standing #June.’
She shared a series of shots, including one of her in an ambulance, with a face mask on, as well as posing outside the Friends Stroke Unit at the hospital.
After followers has suggested this had something to do with the Covid-19 vaccine – which had been linked to rare and unusual cases of blood clots – she denied it was the case, adding: ‘I’ve seen a few vaccine comments, I would like to clarify the blood clot was not caused by the covid vaccine x.’
Erin also revealed she was ‘saved’ by her sister, who had found her after she suffered a stroke, branding the former pageant queen and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star her ‘guardian angel’, musing she ‘saved my guts’.
Amy had previously shared a message stating they ‘nearly lost’ Erin, writing last month: ‘The fragility of life isn’t something we want to face but sometimes we have to …
‘This week we nearly lost my sister @erinwillerton to series of near fatal strokes. She’s only 24
‘Thankfully she’s now home with us recovering surrounded by love , and LOTS of flowers .. thank you to everyone for your kind messages , and thank you #nhs for saving and caring for my sister .’
The Stroke Association shared Erin’s post on Thursday, stating: ‘Strokes can happen to anyone, at any age.’
The signs of a stroke can be remembered by FAST – facial weakness, arm weakness, speech problems and time to call 999 if you see any of these signs.
Other symptoms can include sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body, including legs, hands or feet, difficulty finding words or speaking in clear sentences, sudden blurred vision or loss of sight in one or both eyes, sudden memory loss or confusion, and dizziness or a sudden fall, as well as a sudden, severe headache.
