Warning: Spoilers for The Apprentice ahead!
The Apprentice 2022 continued tonight with Lord Alan Sugar firing Navid Sole, and the candidate has given his verdict on whether he’s anything like 2019’s Ryan-Mark Parsons, who multiple fans have compared him to.
Week three of Lord Sugar’s show saw both groups challenged with creating a non-alcoholic drink, amid a time when millions of people are taking on Dry January.
It also saw the mixing of the teams for the first time, after two straight losses for the boys.
Sophie Wilding’s team Infinity came up with a peach and spiced non-alcoholic pale ale, while Team Diverse, who was project managed by Nick Showering, came up with Vodify.
Although it was Vodify’s offering – a take on a non-alcoholic vodka, lime and soda – who got the bigger slating in the boardroom, Infinity sunk after receiving a fraction of the orders of their rivals.
Eventually, it was Navid who was fired after furious project manager Sophie brought back the pharmacist and Akshay Thakrar into the boardroom.
But speaking To Metro.co.uk and other press, Navid addressed his feelings on whether he was anything like Ryan-Mark, who many fans have noticed a similarity to.
He said: ‘That’s a good question. You know what? I’m going to be honest with you. Is it Ryan-Mark? I keep getting confused with Rylan [Clark], sorry.
’I’m not throwing shade, I just didn’t know the name really,’ Navid admitted.
The fired candidate responded: ’Basically the thing is there’s no comparison between me and him, I mean, obviously this guy is, into the luxury, luxury.
‘Yes with me, I do like my [luxury] goods, but not to that kind of extent.’
The pharmacist went on to explain his personality in more detail: ’I’m polite, I’m crazy, I’m still single. I’ve never experienced love. I’m still a virgin, so there’s a lot to me that people don’t know.
‘I feel like me being Navid, It’s just a different comparison to Rylan… Mark-Ryan, sorry. There’s only one Navid and no one can essentially be me.
‘Let’s be real, who wears glasses like these?’ – fair point, Navid.
He also responded to contestant Shama Amin’s exit, who announced she would be leaving the process due to medical reasons.
Navid said: ‘Shama is such a lovely lady and lovely woman, I have to say she’s all about women empowerment, she’s got the nicest heart anyone could ever imagine.
‘She’s taught me so many like skills as well, especially cooking because she told me how to make a chicken curry thing because everyone enjoyed the extra health.
She’s nothing but being inspirational. I wouldn’t ever imagine me in Shama being in the boardroom, where we have to go against each other because I couldn’t do it, personally.
‘I’m not a person to throw people under the bus just for money. So I’ve got lots of respect for and I hope she gets well really soon,’ he concluded.
But who will be the next candidate to be at the end of Lord Sugar’s firing finger?
The Apprentice continues next Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
