The Apprentice’s Lord Alan Sugar compares alcohol-free drink to his own urine: ‘It looks like a sample I gave my doctor’

The Apprentice’s Lord Sugar compared one team’s uninviting non-alcoholic drink to his own urine in scenes that aired tonight.

After contestant Shama Amin quit the series due to health problems, the business mogul challenged his remaining 13 candidates to make an exciting new virgin beverage before pitching and selling it to industry big dogs.

Team Diverse, who was project managed by Nick Showering, came up with Vodify, a fresh take on a vodka lime soda, while Sophie Wilding’s team Infinity came up with a peach and spiced non-alcoholic pale ale.

In the boardroom, Lord Sugar decided to sample both products for himself and was less than impressed with the look of Vodify.

‘If I was someone who liked vodka, I would say that you are taking the p*ss, really, because that’s what it looks like,’ he slammed.

‘It looks like a sample I gave my doctor the other day.’

As the room fell silent, Nick awkwardly admitted: ‘I thought we had a product that was going to be sellable.’

Little did Nick know that he had actually led his team to victory, with an impressive 10,675 orders from retailers.

Sophie’s team Infinity, however, only managed to secure 2,502 cases and ultimately, Lord Sugar decided to fire Navid Sole.

The Apprentice 2022 kicked off earlier this month and was watched by 4.6 million people, making it the show’s most popular launch since 2017.

Next week, the remaining candidates enter the choppy waters of the fish business, sourcing and creating a fish dish to sell to the public.

Half the team heads down to Cornwall to secure their chosen catch of the day while the other half remains in London, convincing a top corporate client to buy into the meal.
