Following in the footsteps of the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, Walk The Line is ITV’s latest talent show on the hunt for the best of British musical talent.
The competition is heating up, with the final airing tonight.
Hosted by Maya Jama, the Simon Cowell-produced show sees a number of talented contestants battle it out to win the £500k prize money with judges Gary Barlow, Alesha Dixon, Craig David, and Dawn French critiquing their performance.
The top two performers of the evening face a decision to either ‘cash out’ and take a prize, or ‘walk the line’ and play on.
The longer the performers stay in the contest, the bigger the prize pot, and each night the reigning champion is offered an even higher cashout prize.
Basically, it’s not for the faint-hearted.
What does the winner of Walk The Line get?
The winner will earn a cash prize of £500,000.
However, the contestants will have had to take plenty of risks to get to that point.
The winner of each episode has to decide whether to return the following night to perform again, and risks being dropped from the competition – or they can ‘cash out’ and walk away with an increasing amount of money, starting with £10,000.
Speaking to ITV about the new show, creator Simon revealed he was ‘thrilled’ to develop a show that offers contestants a ‘life-changing cash prize.’
When is Walk The Line on TV?
The final of Walk The Line will air tonight at 8.30pm and run until 8.30pm.
It’s been airing daily on ITV since it began on December 12, so is available for catch-up on the ITV Hub.
However, the series has divided fans, with some not understanding the format.
Walk The Line continues tonight at 8:30pm on ITV.
