However, with the biggest draw of season one being the stars – which included serial rule breakers Francesca Farago and Harry Josey – were unaware they’d inadvertently signed up for a summer of celibacy, once again it was essential their successors had no idea what they were in for.
‘We were told it would be a partying show with loads of single people in there having sex, having the time of our lives but we still had a good time,’ 24-year-old personal trainer Cam Holmes told us.
‘But yeah we had no idea it would be a celibacy challenge – that was a big surprise for me.’
Emily Miller, a 27-year-old model based in London explained: ‘We were told that was the game – we could have sex, hook up with people so yeah it was a real turnaround.’
‘We were like, “Yes, it’s a big orgy!”’ chuckled Larissa Trownson, a lawyer who describes herself as a ‘real life Elle Woods’ from Australia.

Producers even laid condoms out on the beds – three weeks of bonking wasn’t just teased it was promised.
Not that it stopped Cam or Emily taking the rules into their own hands in a matter of hours after first being introduced to Llana in the opening episode.
‘There was a hell of a lot of rule breaks,’ they all conceded.
But the agony didn’t stop after the cameras stopped rolling. Arguably it had only just begun.

Filming Too Hot To Handle took place in September, but the cast had to keep their involvement a secret for seven months.
‘To be in lockdown in England has been a blessing in disguise,’ admitted Emily. ‘Because we’ve been stuck inside and I haven’t seen anyone.’
Cam agreed: ‘It’s like sitting on a winning lottery ticket but you can’t cash it in for six months.’
Joining Emily, Cam and Larissa in the second season of Too Hot to Handle is Canadian model Carly, professional football player Chase, French basket ballplayer Marvin, model and bartender Kayla, Brooklyn model Melinda, personal trainer Peter, and UK-born but Texas living Magic Mike-style stripper Nathan.
Too Hot to Handle season 2 is available to stream on Netflix.
