Henry Cavill has confirmed that The Witcher is returning to the studio over lockdown for filming on season two.
The star has been keeping fans informed of his training plans over recent times, running in the hills of the Lake District in a recent Instagram post.
Now, however, the star has announced that he is relocating south, with filming on the Netflix show due to take place in the studio during lockdown.
‘England returns to Lockdown on Thursday so it is time for me to depart Yorkshire and the extraordinary North, and head back down South to continue shooting in the studio,’ he wrote on Facebook.
‘Thank you for hosting all of us on season 2 of The Witcher. Hopefully I shall return to your hills, dales and fells soon. Stay strong and stay safe, my friends.’
Anticipation for the new season is high, especially after Henry was seen battling new monsters in the first season two teaser.
The star is returning to the role of Geralt of Rivia, teaming up with Princess Ciri (Freya Allen) and Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) for a new set of adventures.
Filming for season two was originally shut down in March as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The cast and crew previously returned to set in August, with changes written into the script to allow for social distancing measures.
The Witcher is likely to air on Netflix in 2021 given the delay, but a release date has yet to be confirmed.
